Miss B’s sale lust-haves…

January is my most beloved month. Tempting sale signs adorn the windows of all my favourite shopping havens, calling me in to stalk the rails in search of little sale treasures. But in this treacherous weather my six-inch stilettos are no match for the puddle-strewn pavement, so I’ve been lusting after half price treats from the safety of my sofa and picked out a few of the very best.

Inspired by the ornate grandeur and opulence of the 18^th century Parisian Rococo movement, hues of embellished black, silver and gold have ruled the runways this winter. Coveted by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin and Balmain, this trend is every fashion magpie’s dream. Top of my sale lust-haves is Christabel, featuring decadent silver embroidery over sheer black mesh.

 

The polka dot is an all-time classic, hailing from the fabulous fifties and adored by the fashion world for their retro appeal. With big, bright, beautiful dots gracing the runways of Marc Jacobs, Nina Ricci and Stella McCartney, quirky spots are flirty, fun and totally chic. Sitting pretty on my lust-have list is Monique in white and pink polka dots with Deco-inspired embroidery.

 

Fashion’s love affair with the mystery of ancient empires has inspired a wealth of Oriental prints and beautiful floral brocade this season. Silk and chiffon adorned with traditional orchids, dragons and exotic birds has enriched our wardrobes with eastern futurism. I recommend fully embracing this trend by slipping into our elegant Lyla Oriental Chemise and soaking up the glamour.
